Johnson County Siding & Window Co., a longtime exterior remodeling company serving homeowners throughout the Kansas City metro area, is proud to announce its latest honor from the Kansas City chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI): the 2019 REMY GOLD Award in the category of Exterior Finishes Over $200,000.
The Kansas City NARI Remodel of the Year (REMY) awards program is held annually to honor local remodeling contractors who have demonstrated their commitment to excellence in craftsmanship and professionalism. Award winners were honored Jan. 16 at an awards banquet at the Hallbrook Country Club.
This is the sixth time that Johnson County Siding & Window Co. has been honored with a REMY award recognizing its superior remodeling expertise and dedication to providing the highest level of customer service.
Entries for the 2019 program were judged on a 90-point scale that included a project overview, before and after photos, budget considerations, overall aesthetic appeal, and communication with the homeowner. Winners had to score at least 76 points. Remodeling contractors and design professionals from the Greater Omaha NARI chapter judged the entries this year.
How We Did It
Our winning entry was a full-fledged makeover of a home built in the 1970s in Olathe, KS. Over the years, the home had undergone several additions that incorporated different cladding materials and design elements. This resulted in an architectural imbalance. Using our exterior design expertise and in collaboration with the homeowner, we developed a rescue plan that would restore a symmetrical appearance to the home as well as update its style and improve its energy efficiency. Among other improvements, we remodeled the home’s exterior with James Hardie fiber cement siding and trim and accented certain features with beautiful manufactured-stone siding.
