Happy Holidays from Johnson County Siding & Window Co!

The holidays are finally here, and all around Kansas City and Johnson County, celebrations are already going strong. Whether you’re looking for a night out with friends or a celebration for the whole family, you can find something here to enjoy. Here are some of our favorite holiday activities, both those that have already started and those that should be starting soon.

Downtown Dazzle

Downtown Dazzle is a holiday experience that’s truly specific to Kansas City. It highlights different neighborhoods in the city, what makes them special and how they celebrate Christmas. A KC Streetcar can take you from festival activity to activity. If you’re stumped on Christmas gifts, don’t worry. There are also frequent prizes throughout Downtown Dazzle’s run, from November 22 through New Year’s Eve.

WinterFest

Worlds of Fun is a beloved theme park in Kansas City, but every holiday season, beginning the day after Thanksgiving, it becomes something else entirely: WinterFest. The park even looks different, glowing with Christmas lights. You may run into Santa Claus, Rudolph, and many of their friends. And this isn’t just fun for kids. Between the ice-skating rink and cooking decorating, anyone can enjoy WinterFest. It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit.

Retro Holiday Fun!

This is another holiday themed activity that opened just after Thanksgiving. Every day January 5, the 1950s All-Electric House at Johnson County Museum will be decked out for the holidays. From 10am through noon, the kids can stop by and take pictures with Santa with the perfect colorful, retro backdrop.

Bingham-Waggoner Estate Holiday Tours

Bingham-Waggoner Estate is a historic staple in Kansas City. Not only is it a beautiful structure, but it’s placed right along the Santa Fe Trail that had a pivotal role in the exploration of Kansas City. It’s named for Caleb George Bingham, a prominent politician who passionately supported the Union during the Civil War. During the holidays, the house is dressed up and special holiday tours are open from 10am to 4pm.

Powell Gardens’ Festival of Lights

Every Christmas season, Kansas City’s botanical gardens light up to create a lively and stunningly cheery Festival of Lights. There are several themed gardens to keep your interest sparked, as well as free activities for children from 4-8pm. Make sure to stop by the ornament station to get an ornament to remember the occasion.

In this holiday season, we like to appreciate our community and thank you all for over 40 years of support. We look forward to many more. If you find yourself in need of replacement windows, doors, or siding in the new year, contact Johnson County Siding & Window Co.
