Cover Up Eyesore Features With Beautiful Stone Veneers

Feb 24, 2015

Are there any exterior parts of your Kansas City home that just don’t look attractive at all? For example, a stretch of bare cinder block or an area of exposed foundation? Not only do spots such as these probably bother you every time you see them, but they most likely hurt your property’s curb appeal as well. So why not fix this by covering them up with stone veneers?

Stone has a natural aesthetic that helps to make your house look more at home with its natural surroundings. It also provides visual texture to your home and is without a doubt an upgrade over whatever eyesore you are trying to cover up. Covering up these eyesores isn’t too difficult either. Although having a professional come to install it is always the best idea, you can do so yourself as long as you have some basic tools and a little bit of know-how.

First of all, you will need to measure how many stone veneer panels you need. You don’t want to be caught with less than you need. The panels need to be installed above ground, which means you will want to paint the lower strip right above ground level in the color of the veneer. Install the starter strip over it, cut the panels to length using a circular saw and then begin attaching the stone veneer panels using a drill. Always make sure the panels are level and work your way from bottom to top.

It does require a little bit of work to do this yourself, and it’s usually in your best interest to hire a professional to avoid making any mistakes.
