The summer is a good time of the year to invest in a few home improvements, especially if you’ve been considering the idea of remodeling your home for a while. This is in part because the summer weather makes it easier to do improvements to your exterior without having to worry about the elements causing trouble. The survey, which was done on the behalf of CertainTeed, polled more than 2,000 American homeowners on their top priorities when it came to home improvement projects. When it comes to exterior home remodels, there were a number of factors that made the top of the list. These included the property’s curb appeal, the ROI (return on investment) of the renovation, and an improvement of their outdoor living and lifestyle. In fact, the number one factor for homeowners was curb appeal for 39 percent of those polled, ROI for 26 and outdoor living and lifestyle for 21 percent. Some of the popular exterior home improvements that fit these factors include improved insulation, solar panels, vinyl siding, decking and cool roofing, just to name a few. The bottom line is that the majority of homeowners are looking for energy efficient homes that provide comfort and curb appeal.
These aren’t the only home improvements popular among homeowners, however. Other popular improvements include connecting the indoors to the outdoors as well as extending the living space by building outdoor kitchens, patios and gazebos.
