Table of Contents

Kansas City is an amazing place to live. One of the reasons for this is due to the strength of the community. The city is known for actively engaging its community via Kansas City events. If you want to learn how you can better engage with the community and have your voice heard, then you should register for the Community Engagement University.

The Community Engagement University is a city program designed to help residents learn how they can better connect with their government. Some of the things that you will learn from this free program include how the local government functions and operates as well as how it develops and finances different operations, projects and services and how it goes about executing those operations, projects and services.

By learning this program and educating yourself on the local government, you’ll be able to help improve the quality of life of the residents by participating in the creation of a more sustainable community, serving as a role model for your neighborhood and learning about more volunteer opportunities.

There are 8 total sessions beginning on March 31st. Each session will take place on a Tuesday for 8 weeks straight, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at City Hall. Some of the lesson topics include local government, keeping the city safe, keeping the city clean, how to improve the city and the financial aspects that relate to improving the community.

Be sure to enroll as soon as possible as the class sizes are limited to the first 35 people that sign up. You must be a resident that is 18 years or older in order to participate.
